I'm pretty confident that they were sprayed all White to start, then resprayed with the secondary. A mass produced half spray would be tough.

First looking at the door striker post, you can see the color is split half and half.

It does look like the whole car was probably painted completely white first, then masked and painted the sand gray.
Why mask the car twice?
I can see a slight amount of over spray of the sand gray over the white in the corner areas on the door.
You could always take off one of the plastic door sill plates and try and remove some paint and see (on a less than pristine example).
We do know that AERO Package was installed by a small company in Kentucky so those were not painted while on the car at Norwood.

That's my best guess.

Looking at the photo below you can see where the sand gray is masked at the door sill.

The cars were definitely painted white before the gray was added. The gray seems to age much faster than the white which makes me wonder if the gray was painted at Norwood. The spoiler looks like it started out black because the white paint on the spoiler is always sloppy and one can see the black underneath the white paint.
